Self Pity (A Sonnet)

freemoney

Ever since I was born,
They told me I was made for more;
I would dream in ethereal form,
Clasp the world and then break its law.

Ever since I was born,
They told me I was made to preach;
I would grasp the nettle and cast aside the thorn,
Then capture what others couldn’t reach.

Ever since I was born,
My heart has drained, my faith has dwindled.
With empty knowledge and senseless porn,
The world breaks a fool in slow swindle.

Now on bleak days do I recall old ways
Gazing beyond cloud and sky.
And all I hear:
Too far old child.
You were made to break down,
You were made to cry.

All these thoughts...in my head! I need to get them out!
